Located in Dorval, QC, Omega Community Resources is a community organization offering a variety of support services for adults in mental health, including a day center, group home and supervised apartments.

Omega is looking for a part-time, flexible-hour On-Call Intervenor.

Responsibilities:

• Promotes positive, appropriate social interactions and acts as a role model;
• Receives, checks, organizes and distributes prescribed medication to residents;
• Ensures that residents adhere to rules and regulations;
• Assists and teaches residents activities of daily living as needed;
• Intervenes with tenants in crisis prevention and intervention;
• Ensures the safety and well-being of residents and the building;
• Provides advice, intervention or other support on an individual basis.

Requirements:

• Studying in psychology, social work, special education or a related field;
• A minimum of one year’s experience working with a population living with mental health issues;
• Empathy, flexibility, sensitivity, organizational skills;
• Understanding and interest in working within a community mental health model;
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team;
• Bilingual, good communication skills (spoken and written);
• High degree of autonomy and initiative;
• Empathy and listening skills;
• Knowledge of IT tools.
