Located in Dorval, QC, Omega Community Resources is a community organization offering a variety of support services for adults in mental health, including a day center, group home and supervised apartments.
Omega is looking for a part-time, flexible-hour On-Call Intervenor.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes positive, appropriate social interactions and acts as a role model;
- Receives, checks, organizes and distributes prescribed medication to residents;
- Ensures that residents adhere to rules and regulations;
- Assists and teaches residents activities of daily living as needed;
- Intervenes with tenants in crisis prevention and intervention;
- Ensures the safety and well-being of residents and the building;
- Provides advice, intervention or other support on an individual basis.
Requirements:
- Studying in psychology, social work, special education or a related field;
- A minimum of one year’s experience working with a population living with mental health issues;
- Empathy, flexibility, sensitivity, organizational skills;
- Understanding and interest in working within a community mental health model;
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team;
- Bilingual, good communication skills (spoken and written);
- High degree of autonomy and initiative;
- Empathy and listening skills;
- Knowledge of IT tools.
