Chef Trainer

D-Trois-Pierres is a non-profit social economy and socio-professional integration organization that operates the Cap-Saint-Jacques ecological farm and the Bois-de-la-Roche agricultural park. Our main mission is to offer people who have lost touch with the job market professional and personal learning pathways as a springboard to the job market.

Job Description:

We’re currently looking for a passionate chef for a full-time position as part of a dynamic team. The main mandate will be to supervise and train employees in training according to the induction program, and to facilitate their integration of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train employees in training and contribute to evaluations;
  • Help each employee undergoing training to acquire the technical skills and socio-professional attitudes needed to find a job;
  • Explain the tasks to be performed by employees in training, and follow up regularly;
  • Supervise and ensure the quality of the work of employees in training;
  • Teach and monitor safe techniques for using tools and equipment;
  • Accompany employees in training in their individual action plans established by the youth programs;
  • Work in collaboration with the socio-professional integration worker;
  • Conduct technical training workshops in the field and in theory;
  • Collaborate in the development of activities and tools to complement training courses;
  • Develop and produce the food offer and by-products for the various points of service;
  • Develop and produce the catering menu;
  • Purchases food, equipment and supplies;
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment in accordance with health and hygiene standards;

Requirements:

  • DEC in hotel management techniques, all relevant experience will be considered
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in event organization and customer service (room and site rentals, entertainment, catering)
  • Good knowledge of MAPAQ standards (manipulator or manager certificate an asset)
  • Significant experience in staff training
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English
  • Very good command of the Office suite, social media and various communications skills
  • Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Flexible working hours
  • Strong organizational skills (autonomy, priority management, leadership and initiative)
  • Ability to manage several files at once
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
