Job Description:
The PCBA Process Professional will work with a development and manufacturing team. The incumbent is responsible for setting up the manufacturing process, providing technical assistance to production and developing continuous improvement programs.
Responsibilities:
- Define a design analysis for manufacturing on PCBA products;
- Perform design-for-manufacturing analysis on all new products;
- Define and support manufacturing throughput for all PCBA products (surface mount and through-hole);
- Produce and maintain assembly instructions for low-volume, high-diversity PCBA products for the broadcast industry;
- Establish and validate BOM structure for new products;
- Support the engineering change order process by justifying and implementing engineering changes;
- Support product manufacturing through the product life cycle;
- Evaluate and implement new technologies linked to processes used on the production floor;
- Improve process efficiency through the application of lean manufacturing methods;
- Direct and solve quality and efficiency problems transmitted by the production floor;
- Train operators from the SMT and TH departments in new products, methods or equipment;
- Interact with production, purchasing, quality, and research and development departments;
- Help define work standards for the Process Professional – PCBA team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in automated production, mechanical engineering or industrial engineering;
- At least one (1) year’s experience with SMT and TH manufacturing processes;
- Experience with 6-sigma continuous improvement tools considered an asset;
- Knowledge of assembly processes, brazing and SMT and TH materials;
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods;
- Experience with FactoryLogix considered an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.);
- Ability to work as part of a team with different people at all levels of the organization;
- Interpersonal and communication skills to work with a wide variety of personalities in a geographically dispersed team;
- Fluency in French and English required;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail;
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
