Quality assurance management

Located in Baie-d’Urfé, SCP SCIENCE is a successful, privately-owned company that manufactures and distributes certified analytical equipment, supplies, reagents and certified reference materials for the inorganic analysis laboratory market. The company has grown substantially in recent years, thanks to in-house and contract manufacturing, acquisitions and the expansion of its worldwide distribution network.

Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ISO 17034 quality management standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and participation in registration audits;
  • Management of the internal audit process;
  • Management and creation of all quality assurance documentation;
  • Management of corrective and preventive action processes;
  • Scheduling, preparation and chairing of quality system management reviews;
  • Management of the calibration process for measuring equipment;
  • Management of proficiency testing programs;
  • Management of quality system manual and standard operating procedures;
  • Promote and manage continuous improvement efforts within the company to improve product quality and reduce costs;
  • Organize regular meetings with production to review the status of quality-related issues, technical modifications and improvement projects;
  • Implement and manage quality control processes for all company divisions;
  • Investigate all internal and supplier non-conformities;
  • Ensure that documentation, corrective actions and follow-up activities are properly documented;
  • Investigate all quality issues related to customers and distributors;
  • Ensure that documentation, corrections, corrective actions and follow-up activities are carried out;
  • Examine and evaluate all products returned under RMA;
  • Coordinate the documentation, approval and implementation of technical modifications to existing products;
  • Generate quality statistics for presentation to management;
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of labels and safety data sheets (chemistry);
  • Manage a team of quality control inspectors and a laboratory technical coordinator;
  • Prepare the implementation of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards on the basis of a predefined environment, health, safety and quality management system (EHQMS);
  • Draw up the annual operating budget
  • Participate in year-end inventory

Requirements:

  • Degree in engineering, chemistry or equivalent;
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001;
  • Willingness to learn and support international standards ISO 17025, ISO 17034, ISO14001 and ISO 45001;
  • At least five years’ experience in quality management;
  • Perfectly bilingual, English and French (written and spoken);
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook);
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies;
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as Pareto analyses, 5-Why diagrams and Cause-Effect diagrams;
  • ASQ certification would be an asset;
  • Project management skills;
  • Good knowledge of statistics and statistical methods;
  • Good communicator and motivator;
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
