Job Description:

We are currently seeking a qualified industrial sewing machine operator for a permanent full-time position in our Dorval, Quebec facility. Reporting to the Sewing Department Manager, the Industrial Sewing Machine Operator will be responsible for sewing a variety of standard products, ranging from flags, banners and tent tops to custom made products.

Responsibilities

• According to a template and the instructions described in the production order,
• Operate a standard or walking foot industrial sewing machine to assemble polyester or vinyl sections into finished products on a piecework or production basis
• If necessary, add Velcro, a silicone edge, a strap or other finishing elements
• Adjust the fabric on the frame to ensure it fits and meets quality standards. If necessary, make adjustments
• Perform maintenance tasks on sewing machines
• Maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications

• 2 years industrial sewing experience using an industrial sewing machine or walking foot machine in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with polyester and vinyl preferred
• Ability to meet quality standards and deadlines
• Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and goals
• Team player able to interact in a positive and constructive manner
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted Basic understanding of machines
