The Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec belongs to a group of 14 member cooperatives in the Inuit communities of Nunavik. The FCNQ was founded in 1967 to provide the fast-growing cooperative movement with the powers and services it needed to achieve its goal of “Atautsikut” Together – working for collective growth, with no one left behind.
The golden thread that continues to motivate Ilagiisaq’s workers is the realization that by working together, each of us contributes to empowering a nation in transition. The realization that we are lucky enough to have jobs that improve the lives of others acts as a unifying link.
