Job Description:
The Intervenant(e) coordonateur(trice) accompanies adults living with mental illness and psychosocial disorders in their efforts to integrate into society and the workplace. The representative reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome, support and accompany participants on their recovery journey;
- Recruitment, registration and orientation of potential participants;
- Assist and monitor participants’ learning progress according to program requirements;
- Offer occasional support to program participants;
- Manage participants hired under Work Integration Contracts and support program evaluation;
- Accompany some participants during cooking activities;
- Prepare and lead monthly support groups;
- Represent the organization at consultation meetings and public events;
- Collaboration with external partners (Ressource enseignante, community organizations, Emploi-Québec, volunteers);
- Organization of in-house activities (parties, culinary workshops, etc.);
- Related administrative tasks (e.g., preparing participants’ schedules with the kitchen and teaching resource, applying for government reimbursements).
Requirements:
- At least 1 year’s experience in intervention, whether paid employment, internship or volunteer work;
- Possesses empathy, enthusiasm, listening skills and the desire to accompany people living with mental illness and psychosocial disorders;
- Has experience with this population, whether through employment, unpaid work or life experience;
- Knowledge or experience of social integration;
- Is organized and versatile – able to handle several projects at once;
- Bilingual (English and French);
- Communicates well, both orally and in writing;
- Already knows or is comfortable learning new software (Microsoft Access, Outlook, Excel);
- Comfortable working in person. Since our participants are on-site, no teleworking options are currently available.
